The last update we got regarding Robert Rodriguez's MACHETE KILLS was that the absolutely gorgeous Zoe Saldana would be joining the cast. Does it get better than that? Well no, no it doesn't.

What's the next best thing though? Edward James Olmos! According to Omelete the "Battlestar Galactica" actor is the latest name to join MACHETE KILLS, which is building up quite the impressive cast! Along with Olmos (above) and Saldana, the flick is also set to star Danny Trejo, Michelle Rodriguez, Jessica Alba, Sofia Vergara, Demian Bechir with Amber Heard (below) as manipulative assassin known as 'Miss San Antonio' and Mel Gibson as 'Luther Voz,' a cunning arms dealer and death merchant who aims to spread war across the planet by launching a nuclear missile. Nice!

The sequel finds the titular ex-federale (Trejo) recruited by the U.S. government to stop a terrorist named Mendez the Madman, who happens to be Mexico’s leading cartel dealer.

So how stoked are you for MACHETE KILLS? That's what I thought. As soon as more news for MACHETE KILLS flys across our desk you can bet we'll be right here to tell you about it.

Extra Tidbit: Where does Edward James Olmos and Colin Hanks' 'Doomsday Killer' rank in your favorite "Dexter" villains?

Fuck Zoe Saldana

Edward James Olmos is EXPONENTIALLY better than some mostly attractive piece of tail that looks like any other. He certainly makes this movie that much more worth seeing!

That is cool.

It is a nice casting choice for charactor actor Edward James Olmos to be in the movie, since he was terrific in short supporting turn in "Blade Runner". I just recently watched "Wolfen" on DVD, which he gived a strong performance as well.

I just watched "Machete" on blu-ray this week, i bought it at Wal-Mart for a cheap price. I liked the movie, it had more plot than usual for that kind of movie but only towards the end, "Machete" didn't know when to quit. Blu-ray features didn't have much

Blu-ray features didn't have much like Deleted Scenes and an audience reaction track (I didnt check that out yet). I hope Robert Rodriguez will put a Special Edition Blu-ray, when "Machete Kills" is put out in theaters next year. Although filming wasn't started yet.

If they do "Machete Kills Again", they should ask Ruben Blades to be in it.
