Eisener’s Treevenge!

If you haven’t heard of Jason Eisener’s short film TREEVENGE then you’re in for a treat today!

The man that brought us the awesome Grindhouse-style trailer HOBO WITH A SHOTGUN is back again to bring us the revenge story to top all revenge stories! Seriously folks… go watch this! This thing is brilliant! The title basically says it all but here’s the skinny anyway from TREEVENGE’s official website: Treevenge details the experiences and horrifying reality of the lives of Christmas trees. Clearly, for trees, Christmas isn’t the exciting “peace on earth” that is experienced by most. After being hacked down, and shipped away from their homes, they quickly become strung up, screwed into an upright position for all to see, exposed in a humiliation of garish decorations. But this Christmas will be different, this Christmas the trees have had enough, this Christmas the trees will fight back. Treevenge could be a short film about the end of days for Christmas trees, or perhaps, the end of humanity?

The short film runs around 16 minutes and has literally been collecting awards everywhere it goes. From Toronto After Dark to the NYC Horror Film Fest to San Francisco Independent Film Festival to Sundance… TREEVENGE has been making the rounds and cleaning up! And for good reason too! This thing turns the world upside down and makes the beloved Christmas Tree the protagonist while us humans are the evil-doers. But don’t worry! Those trees get their oh-so beautiful revenge! In a vicious manner too! I can’t even begin to describe these scenes. Beautiful… just beautiful. Scope it out for yourself below.
