Elijah Wood’s SpectreVision & Drafthouse Films team on The Greasy Strangler

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Elijah Wood’s production company SpectreVision and Drafthouse Films have announced today they will join forces with Rook Films and Timpson Films to produce the marvelously-titled THE GREASY STRANGLER, which will be directed by Jim Hosking (ABC’s Of Death 2: G is for Grandad). Shooting is slated to begin shooting in Los Angeles this spring; no cast has been revealed just yet.

The Greasy Strangler is the story of Ronnie, a man who runs a Disco Walking tour in L.A. along with his browbeaten son, Brayden. When a sexy, alluring woman comes to take the tour, it begins a competition between father and son for her attentions. It also signals the appearance of an oily, slimy inhuman maniac who stalks the streets at night and strangles the innocent, soon dubbed ‘The Greasy Strangler.’

Ben Wheatley (KILL LIST) is on board as an executive producer. SpectreVision’s Daniel Noah, Josh C. Waller and Wood will produce along with Andrew Starke of Rook Films and Timpson Films’ founder, Ant Timpson. Check out a teaser poster below!
