Ethan Embry and Merritt Wever join The Walking Dead Season 6

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Comic-Con used to only be the domain of the comic nerd fandoms, but the times, they are a-changin'. Especially since The Walking Dead took over the world, fandom has taken on a whole new meaning and horror has been taking over every corner of the market. It's mystifying that we're now getting news on our favorite horror shows from panels at comic conventions, but that's the way of the world now, so here we go:

Just minutes ago, it was announced at the Walking Dead panel at the San Diego Comic-Con that actors Ethan Embry and Merritt Wever would be taking roles in the upcoming sixth season of The Walking Dead. The specific characters they will be playing have not yet been announced, but fans of the graphic novels are sure to have their theories.

Ethan Embry has been in genre fare as recently as 2014's THE GUEST and 2013's CHEAP THRILLS, as well as 2007's VACANCY, though he is perhaps best known for his role as Billy Carber in HAROLD AND KUMAR GO TO WHITE CASTLE. Merritt Wever on the other hand, has limited experience in the genre, having only played a bit part as a pharmacist in SIGNS. She is best known for her roles in BIRDMAN and NURSE JACKIE.

The first episode of The Walking Dead Season 6, which also stars Andrew Lincoln, Steven Yeun, Norman Reedus, Chandler Riggs, Lauren Cohan, Danai Gurira, Melissa McBride, Sonequa-Martin Green, and Michael Cudlitz will air on AMC on October 11th.
