Exclusive 1:1 Interview: Oculus Writer/Director Mike Flanagan!

Apr. 11, 2014by: JimmyO

With only a handful of feature films to his name, filmmaker Mike Flanagan has already become one of the most exciting names in horror. With a flair for storytelling and the ability to create scares with smarts, he has given us a rarity in OCULUS… a great haunted mirror flick that actually works. Featuring terrific performances from Karen Gillan, Brenton Thwaites, Katee Sackhoff, Rory Cochrane and the incredible Annalise Basso and Garrett Ryan, the film offers genuine thrills and chills.

When I sat down with the director at the Los Angeles junket for the film, we weren’t given a whole lot of time to talk. Yet he did open up on his approach to making a feature film out of his 2006 short “Oculus: Chapter 3 – The Man with the Plan.” Keep your eyes open for a more in-depth chat with the writer/director here at Arrow in the Head, and make sure you go see OCULUS this weekend at a theatre near you.

Great interview!

I really enjoyed this movie. Not as scary as I thought it would be but no problem I still liked it and recommend it.

****AVOID*****

Mike Flanagan, May I please have my money back? The money for two admission tickets please? Two of us gave you our time for this horrid film that was boring, not scary, and pointless with horrible actors (especially the lead girl). Two people out of about 30 in the theater did actually walk out. I wanted to follow them, but I held out hope that it was going to get better. Unfortunately, it only got worse as it went on.
