The Duel Woody Harrelson Kieran Darcy-Smith

As of today, director Kieran Darcy-Smith's dark western THE DUEL is playing in select theatres and is available for viewing on VOD. Scripted by Matt Cook and starring Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Alice Braga, and William Sadler, the film has the following synopsis:

In the Great Plains during 1880s, Texas Ranger David Kingston is sent to an Old West frontier town Helena to investigate a series of murders and disappearances of local people. In the town, preacher Abraham Brant is keeping all the townsfolk in some kind of fearful grip.

Harrelson portrays that sinister preacher, which is a fact that had me sold on this movie as soon as I heard about it, but my interest is boosted even further by the EXCLUSIVE CLIP we have to share with you.

In the 56 seconds of footage embedded below, we get to see Harrelson break the "Thou Shalt Not Kill" Commandment and step into a classic western scenario: a showdown between his character and Hemsworth's.

THE DUEL definitely looks like a film that will be worth checking out this weekend. Hemsworth also stars in another June 24 release, INDEPENDENCE DAY: RESURGENCE, so a viewer could have a Liam Double Feature if they felt so inclined.
