Even though most people I've talked with are of the opinion that last years surprise hit THE PURGE wasn't really all that good, thanks in no small part to focusing on a home invasion storyline instead of giving us a twisted tale that focused on the titular event, I still enjoyed THE PURGE for what it was even though I found myself agreeing that seeing more of the actual Purge would've made for a more interesting film. It seems that the producers of the upcoming sequel THE PURGE: ANARCHY are set on delivering what many of us want to see, and today we have a new extended TV spot for the flick that gives me hope it will deliver just that. This latest TV spot, along with the earlier trailer we brought you a few weeks back, actually makes the film look rather promising. THE PURGE: ANARCHY, the sequel to summer 2013¹s sleeper hit that opened to No. 1 at the box-office, sees the return of writer/director/producer James DeMonaco to craft the next terrifying chapter of dutiful citizens preparing for their country¹s yearly 12 hours of anarchy.

Returning alongside DeMonaco to produce the sequel to 2013¹s sleeper hit are Blumhouse Productions¹ Jason Blum (PARANORMAL ACTIVITY and INSIDIOUS series), alongside Sébastien K. Lemercier (ASSAULT ON PRECINCT 13) and Platinum Dunes partners Michael Bay (PAIN & GAIN, TRANSFORMERS), Brad Fuller (THE AMITYVILLE HORROR, A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET) and Andrew Form (THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE, FRIDAY THE 13TH).

THE PURGE: ANARCHY stars Frank Grillo, Zach Gilford, Kiele Sanch. It arrives in theaters on July 18.
