First images from the set of Terminator: Genesis with Arnold Schwarzenegger

Apr. 22, 2014by: Kevin Woods

He said he'd be back!

Production is now underway on TERMINATOR: GENESIS, director Alan Taylor's entry in the highly successful TERMINATOR franchise and the first one since RISE OF THE MACHINES to feature Arnold Schwarzenegger. Today we have a few images from the set to share with you, a couple of which featuring Schwarzenegger himself.

This sequel/reboot of the James Cameron-created series is also being planned as the first in a new trilogy that will star GAME OF THRONES' Emilia Clarke as Sarah Connor alongside Jason Clarke, Dayo Okeniji, J.K. Simmons, Sandrine Holt, Byung-hun Lee, and Jai Courtney.

TERMINATOR: GENESIS aims to be a continuation of the James Cameron classics and is trying to tie all the threads and even take into consideration the time passed which makes sense because they'll be factoring in the age of Arnold Schwarzenegger. It is currently eyeing a July 1, 2015 release.

Extra Tidbit: Are you excited to see Schwarzenegger back in TERMINATOR: GENESIS?

Wait, Arnold's age?

Isn't he a cyborg? Is he supposed to age?

I'm assuming that it's real skin wrapped around an exoskeleton, real skin WOULD age provided that the terminator was not a new machine?
of course they could write this off as the effects of time travel (show Arnold as young in the future, then old in the past after the bubble pops?)
or they could not draw attention to Arnold's age at all

Its in respect to Sarah Jones a camera assistant who was accidentally killed on a film set recently. A lot of crews have put her name on their slates as a mark of respect

Ahh, I did not know that. I was obviously confused by the coincidence of the name Sarah. Thanks for clarifying.

Arnold is my favorite action star bar none.
But I really wish Terminator had stopped after the 1st one. There's just too many plot holes involved with time travel. In fact I wish Conan would have become a successful franchise, but the Richard Fleischer directed abomination Conan the Destroyer pretty much killed any chance of that.
I'll go see it to support Arnie. Fans really did Arnold wrong letting Sabotage fall off the charts so early.

I'm confused....

... can someone tell me is this movie is a sequel, a prequel or a reboot ?????? or does nobody know for sure ?
if it's a reboot, why arnorld ? it will confuse people and then be a big financial risk for the studio if they want to catch new movie goers (i.e. young people who didn't care mutch about terminator)

It's being incorrectly described like Back to the Future II, where they'll revisit events from the previous film(s). But seeing as they'll have to re-film those events*, its essentially a remake but cleverly disguised as a sequel so they wont piss off the fans of the first two.

*that's more of an assumption than fact. But seeing as they've recast Sarah Connor, Kyle Reese, I'm assuming that's what'll happen

Oh look, Arnold surrounded by hipster douchebags.

This movie already scream failure. It is like the Terminator went too far into the future and the population is nothing but hipster trash and douchebags.
