Josh Hartnett was spotted on the set of Showtime's upcoming psychosexual horror series “Penny Dreadful,” as filming for the series is currently underway. Hartnett will take on the role of Ethan Chandler, a charming American who finds himself trapped in the darkest corners of Victorian London. While set photos tend to be pretty boring, they are at least a sign of things to come and they give us something to chew on until some decent promo stuff rolls our way. "Penny Dreadful" will also star Eva Green, Timothy Dalton, Rory Kinnear, Harry Treadaway, Reeve Carney and “Doctor Who’s” Billie Piper who was just recently added to the cast. She is set to play an Irish immigrant trying to escape a dark past.
The series draws from famous works of literature, posing that some of the most terrifying protagonists — Dr. Frankenstein and his creature, Dorian Gray, Dracula’s Van Helsing and more — come together in Victorian London.
"Penny Dreadful" was written and executive produced by three-time Oscar nominee John Logan and executive produced by Logan's Desert Wolf Productions, along with Oscar winner Sam Mendes and Neal Street's Pippa Harris. The Show will have 8 episodes and will start shooting this fall in London and will air in 2014.
