First Look at the Dead

It seems like forever ago when we heard about First Look Pictures’ THE DEAD GIRL, and today BlackFilm has the first look at an assload of new images from the film, as well as the 1st trailer. How does it look so far? Damn good if you ask me!

Since it’s been awhile and I’m sure you’ve forgotten, here’s a brief synopsis of what the flick’s all about: In an open field on the outskirts of Los Angeles, the discovery of a dead girl reverberates like a scream through the lives of complete strangers linked by her brutal murder. Each is running from their own dark secret that has torn their families apart and left them psychologically fractured.

It’s basically CRASH, but with that horror, serial killer twist to it. Nice! And check out the cast: Josh Brolin, Toni Collette, James Franco, Brittany Murphy, Piper Laurie, Giovanni Ribisi, and Mary Steenburgen. I don’t know if you could cram more talent into one flick!

Though it plays like some sort of serious drama, there’s some definite horror elements to it all- maybe not a scare flick as much as a ‘dude, this is f*cked up’ kinda flick, as so many serial killer movies are. And best part of all? This bad boy is rated R! Yup for Nudity/Profanity/Sexual Situations/Gore… it’s already sounding like my kind of ride.
