First Look: Chucky’s back in Child’s Play remake

It was just yesterday that we let all of you guys know that MGM's upcoming remake of Tom Holland and Don Mancini's CHILD'S PLAY from director Lars Klevberg (POLAROID) had started filming with Aubrey Plaza (LEGION) as Andy's Mom, Brian Tyree Henry (ATLANTA) as Mike and Gabriel Bateman (LIGHTS OUT) as Andy. 

And today MGM has just sent over your first look at Chucky from the new film! You can check him out in all his glory below and then make sure to hit us up and let us know what you think!

The official synopsis reads:

Child’s Play follows a mother (Plaza) who gives her son (Bateman) a toy doll for his birthday, unaware of its more sinister nature.

The remake is directed by Lars Klevberg (POLAROID) from a screenplay written by KUNG FURY 2 writer Tyler Burton Smith with STEPHEN KING'S IT producers David Katzenberg and Seth Grahame-Smith producing.

For those who may have forgotten, the original followed the tale of 

Gunned down by Detective Mike Norris (Chris Sarandon), dying murderer Charles Lee Ray (Brad Dourif) uses black magic to put his soul inside a doll named Chucky — which Karen Barclay (Catherine Hicks) then buys for her young son, Andy (Alex Vincent). When Chucky kills Andy's babysitter, the boy realizes the doll is alive and tries to warn people, but he's institutionalized. Now Karen must convince the detective of the murderous doll's intentions before Andy becomes Chucky's next victim.

The original 1988 film was directed by Tom Holland from a screenplay written by Don Mancini. It starred Catherine Hicks, Dinah Manoff, Chris Sarandon, Alex Vincent, and Brad Dourif as the voice of Chucky.
