First look: Dylan McDermott in American Horror Story: Asylum

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

WARNING: THIS IS EXTREMELY SPOILER-Y!

We’ve known for weeks now that Dylan McDermott was returning to “American Horror Story”; it’s no secret that the series has enjoyed bringing actors from the first season back for season two, “Asylum.” Well, my batch of crazies, today we have gotten our first look at McDermott “in character” on the set of the series, and you can see it below.

Accompanying the picture, which was tweeted by McDermott himself, is the caption: I AM THE MODERN DAY BLOODY FACE!

People watching the series currently know that Bloody Face was a serial killer in the 60s who has reemerged in modern times. The question thus far has been, is it still Oliver Thredson (Zachary Quinto), the sicko doctor with mommy issues whose alter ego is the flesh mask-wearing murderer, or is it someone new?

I guess we have our answer.

According to Entertainment Weekly, it was indeed McDermott’s voice heard taunting detectives in the modern day segment in November 21st’s episode, “The Origins of Monstrosity.” Furthermore, series creator Ryan Murphy has confirmed that McDermott is the new Bloody Face.

“Yes. Dylan is modern-day Bloody Face,” Murphy told EW. “So the question is, Why is he the modern-day Bloody Face? What is he doing? And that’s revealed in episode 9.”

Episode 9 will air on December 12th, so looks like we’re waiting it out until then. This show just keeps on bringing the surprises, doesn’t it?
