Wow, a battle of vapid Hollywood twenty somethings...go figure!
A few days ago we heard a pretty absurd claim that perennial looker Megan Fox wants to play the timid title role in the MGM/Screen Gems remake of CARRIE. Now, perhaps even more absurd, the troubled Lindsay Lohan (pictured) is expressing interest in playing the part. No, I'm not joking!
Word comes from FEARnet, which relays a quote Stephen King, author of the 1974 novel on which Brian De Palma's classic horror joint was based, gave to E.W.
"Although Lindsay Lohan as Carrie White… hmmm. It would certainly be fun to cast."
Aesthetically, Lohan surely fits the bill better than Fox. She has the ginger headed, freckled appearance thing going for her, and given her stints in and out of rehab, she certainly has developed the gaunt frame Sissy Spacek boasted back in '76. Still, the thought of either Fox or Lohan portraying Carrie White is a laughable prospect to me. Of course, I'm vehemently opposed to the remake in the first place, so even the wisest casting decision isn't likely to satisfy me.
What about you? It's clear you think Fox is wrong for the part, but what about LiLo? Should she be given the part? If not, who do you think is the right choice to play Carrie White in the remake?
