First Megan Fox, now Lindsay Lohan wants to play Carrie in the remake?

May. 27, 2011by: Jake Dee

Wow, a battle of vapid Hollywood twenty somethings...go figure!

A few days ago we heard a pretty absurd claim that perennial looker Megan Fox wants to play the timid title role in the MGM/Screen Gems remake of CARRIE. Now, perhaps even more absurd, the troubled Lindsay Lohan (pictured) is expressing interest in playing the part. No, I'm not joking!

Word comes from FEARnet, which relays a quote Stephen King, author of the 1974 novel on which Brian De Palma's classic horror joint was based, gave to E.W.

"Although Lindsay Lohan as Carrie White… hmmm. It would certainly be fun to cast."

Aesthetically, Lohan surely fits the bill better than Fox. She has the ginger headed, freckled appearance thing going for her, and given her stints in and out of rehab, she certainly has developed the gaunt frame Sissy Spacek boasted back in '76. Still, the thought of either Fox or Lohan portraying Carrie White is a laughable prospect to me. Of course, I'm vehemently opposed to the remake in the first place, so even the wisest casting decision isn't likely to satisfy me.

What about you? It's clear you think Fox is wrong for the part, but what about LiLo? Should she be given the part? If not, who do you think is the right choice to play Carrie White in the remake?

Extra Tidbit: Lohan's middle name is the same as my last name. I feel so special!

Lindsay is a better choice than Fox but I'm still not buyin it. I personally think Mia Wasikowski is the best person to step into the role. But they really don't need to remake this...

Lohan is a better choice than Fox but still, a bad choice. I can already hear the laughter that will come out of the theater when Lohan gets blood poured on her. People will love it for all the wrong reasons. I think their best bet is to get a relatively new actress.

More Deserving

Hands down Emily Perkins (Bridgett from Ginger Snaps) deserves a star role in a major movie. Either that or give me fresh blood.

If this was Lindsay Lohan back in her Mean Girls days, then I'd give this a thumbs up. She could still act back then, she didn't have all her personal baggage, and the character is supposed to be pretty underneath her dowdiness (so as to make her transformation into the prom queen all the more special). But now... I'd rather it be her than Megan Fox, but that's not saying much.

LiLo, I'm pretty sure Stephen King was being sarcastic when he suggested you for the role.

I agree on Emily Perkins. She could make this movie worth watching, and would fit the bill as Carrie White. What's the point of making Carrie some slutty Hollywood starlet/modern sex icon? She was the underdog in the monarchy of the high school girl's social division. She wasn't particularly appealing to the eyes in the novel, and she certainly wasn't Lindsay Lohan/Megan Fox!

should be an unkown

She would ruin it with her baggage alone. Thats if she even showed up on set.
As for the role if they really want a name (or at least someone with experience) i'd say Dakota Fanning or emily browning but really i think they should find an unknown for the role.
