First-person action/thriller Hardcore Henry gets a new trailer

02.11.2016by: Cody Hamman

Writer/director Ilya Naishuller's completely insane looking first-person film HARDCORE HENRY (which was previously known as simply HARDCORE) will be screening at the SXSW film festival next month ahead of its U.S. theatrical release on April 8th, and a new trailer has been unleashed onto the internet to help viewers prepare for the madness that's in store for them.

Sharlto Copley, Danila Kozlovsky, Haley Bennett, Andrey Dementyev, Dasha Charusha, and Sveta Ustinova star in the film, which has the following synopsis:

Strap in. Hardcore Henry is one of the most unflinchingly original wild-rides to hit the big screen in a long time:  You remember nothing. Mainly because you’ve just been brought back from the dead by your wife (Haley Bennett). She tells you that your name is Henry. Five minutes later, you are being shot at, your wife has been kidnapped, and you should probably go get her back. Who’s got her? His name’s Akan (Danila Kozlovsky); he’s a powerful warlord with an army of mercenaries, and a plan for world domination. You’re also in an unfamiliar city of Moscow, and everyone wants you dead. Everyone except for a mysterious British fellow called Jimmy (Sharlto Copley.) He may be on your side, but you aren’t sure. If you can survive the insanity, and solve the mystery, you might just discover your purpose and the truth behind your identity. Good luck, Henry. You’re likely going to need it...

Timur Beckmambetov (NIGHT WATCH, DAY WATCH, ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER) produced HARDCORE HENRY along with Naishuller, Ekaterina Kononenko, and Inga Vainshtein Smith.

Not sure if the 1st person POV is sustainable for an entire film

It looks like it would either grow tiresome or cause migraines for an entire action film. It worked for the Maniac remake because that was a horror film. I do like the cast (glad to see Haley Bennett in anything; she's lovely).
