Entertainment One has acquired the North American home video rights to 34D Production's "ELVIRA'S MOVIE MACABRE." The famed horror hostess' new, nationally syndicated television show is a reboot of the popular '80s series. The first two installments of double feature DVDs will hit shelves in June (exact date TBA).
The first set is a zombie double feature with George A. Romero's NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD and Del Tenney's I EAT YOUR SKIN, while the second includes two Hammer films, Alan Gibson's THE SATANIC RITES OF DRACULA and Milton Moses Ginsberg's THE WEREWOLF OF WASHINGTON. Future sets will pair THE TERROR with EAGAH and SCARED TO DEATH with MANSTER.
"ELVIRA'S MOVIE MACABRE" premiered back in September. The show features the mistress of the dark's signature tongue-in-cheek hosting of some of best - and worst - B-movies that the genre has to offer. Elvira is portrayed by Cassandra Peterson, who co-writes her material with Ted Biaselli.
