Former Walking Dead showrunner Glen Mazzara prepping Omen sequel Damien

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

First they did the unthinkable and remade “Rosemary’s Baby” for NBC (watched about 30 minutes of it, terrible stuff) and now the powers that be in television will give us an unnecessary sequel to THE OMEN called DAMIEN. And it’s going to air on Lifetime. Something unholy is truly afoot…

DAMIEN will be written by Glen Mazzara, who was the showrunner on “The Walking Dead” after Frank Darabont left; he eventually hit the road as well, being replaced by Scott Gimple.

Here’s the pitch, which basically ignores the OMEN sequels:

The drama centers on the film’s young boy Damien Thorn. Now an adult and haunted by his past, Damien is faced with a series of macabre events and must finally face his true destiny: he is the Antichrist.

Mazzara will executive produce the made-for-TV movie, while a director has yet to be named. Mazzara is also currently working on a SHINING prequel titled THE OVERLOOK HOTEL.
