Frank Darabont (THE WALKING DEAD) is writing the new GODZILLA. The new version is set to be directed by Gareth Edwards, the guy who did the low budget film MONSTERS.
Frank Darabont was disrespectfully kicked off THE WALKING DEAD, and he’s uber famous because he has written award winning screenplays like THE GREEN MILE and THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION. This sounds totally sweet in my book.
Darabont spilled some news about the film: “What we’re trying to do with the new movie is not have it camp, not have it be campy. We’re kind of taking a cool new look at it. But with a lot of tradition in the first film. We want this to be a terrifying force of nature.”
Mr. Darabont also said that just like the original GODZILLA was a social commentary about Hiroshima the reboot will have a modern social commentary, what could it be? The movie will attack cinemas on March 2014.
