Freestyle Releasing taps supernatural flick The Road with May release

Way back in November I gave you all a look at a pretty simple poster for Yam Laranas’ THE ROAD. It’s a Filipino horror flick that’s about.. well… a haunted road!

Now the poster, which can be found to the right, was a nice subtle look at how gruesome this flick could be I guess. It seems we’ll soon get a chance to check this shite out for ourselves when Freestyle Releasing drops THE ROAD into theaters on May 11th. My gut is telling me this will be a limited release but we’ll have to wait and see if that’s the case.

A twelve year old cold case is reopened when three teens are missing in an abandoned road. In the course of the investigation, deeper and gruesome stories of abduction and murders are discovered. After more than two decades, the secrets of the haunted road may finally be revealed.

Johan Soderqvist scored this shite with a cast that includes Carmina Villarroel (below), Marvin Agustin, TJ Trinidad, Rhian Ramos and Barbie Forteza. Mark it on your calenders folks – THE ROAD gets traveled come May 11th!
