Veteran special effects artist Jim Ojala has made his feature directorial debut on the "Eco Horror" film STRANGE NATURE, which is said to be based on "a true unsolved ecological mystery".

Starring Lisa Sheridan, Carlos Alazraqui, John "Nitro" Morrison, Stephen Tobolowsky, David Mattey, Tiffany Shepis (pictured above), Faust Checho, Angela Duffy, and Chalet Lizette Brannan, the film centers on

a struggling yet forceful single mother and her shy son, who start life over by moving in with her estranged hermit father in the backwoods of a small town as the local discovery of deadly offspring mutations threaten to spread from animals to humans.

This is the first film to expose the U.S. frog deformity phenomenon and where it may lead.

While a release date has not yet been announced for STRANGE NATURE, a trailer has arrived online to give an early preview of the film's natural horrors. This concept is the sort of thing that can really get under my skin, and the movie has already gotten me a bit disturbed with some of the visuals in the trailer.

We'll keep you updated on STRANGE NATURE as more information is made available.
