Recall that FROM DUSK TILL DAWN television show that was brought up back in May? Robert Rodriguez was evidently prepping the series for his new El Rey network. At the time, this seemed like a farfetched idea, and I subsequently thought nothing of it... But, lo and behold, it appears as though this bloodsucker has got life in it.

ProductionWeekly's Twitter account sent out the following update over the weekend: "The TV adaptation of @Rodriguez & Quentin Tarantino‘s FROM DUSK TILL DAWN for @Elreynetwork will begin filming in Austin mid-October."

The series will reportedly explore and expand on the characters and story from the original film, providing a wider scope and richer Aztec mythology.

Extra Tidbit: How do you envision a FROM DUSK TILL DAWN series playing out?

A little late on the El Rey network info. IGN.com covered this story about a month and a half ago. By the way, according to that source, they're aiming for the network to premiere around the holidays, or a little after that. From Dusk Till Dawn is apparently planned to be an anchor show, so I'm not sure why they're waiting until October to start filming. Stoked to hear they're moving forward though!

A Robert Rodriguez network sounds like it would be wacky kids shows during the day, then grindhouse movies from dusk till dawn.. yeah, I went there.

I know there's zero chance of Clooney coming back, but I'd watch the further adventures of Seth Gecko versus vampires.
