Full Moon to release Evil Bong: High-5! on 4/20

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

From franchises like PUPPET MASTER and DEMONIC TOYS to one-offs like BLOOD DOLLS and DOLL GRAVEYARD, and all sorts of other films in between, Full Moon has a well-known penchant for tiny terrors. Their most recent successes in this section of the horror genre have come from films featuring some rather unexpected antagonists (even less so than dolls and puppets): a bong that transports tokers into other dimensions and a gingerbread cookie inhabited by the soul of a serial killer.

Over the last eleven years, the EVIL BONG (call her EeBee) and the GINGERDEAD MAN have starred in a total of eight movies, including both solo ventures and crossovers: EVIL BONG, EVIL BONG II: KING BONG, EVIL BONG 3-D: THE WRATH OF BONG, THE GINGERDEAD MAN, GINGERDEAD MAN 2: PASSION OF THE CRUST, GINGERDEAD MAN 3: SATURDAY NIGHT CLEAVER, GINGERDEAD MAN VS. EVIL BONG, and EVIL BONG 420. That total is about to expand to nine, as the latest EVIL BONG sequel will be available for viewing by the end of the month and will feature both of these popular little characters, with appearances by other Full Moon creatures.

EVIL BONG: HIGH-5! will be hitting the FullMoonStreaming service on the very appropriate date of April 20th. Get it? 4/20. Starring Robin Sydney, John Patrick Jordan, Sonny Carl Davis, and Amy Paffrath, HIGH-5 has the following synopsis:

EeBee the Evil Bong is back! And she’s stoner… er… stronger than ever. With Larnell, Sarah Leigh, Rabbit, Velicity and a lobotomized Gingerdead Man trapped in The Bong World for good, she once more sets about her plan for world domination.

One toke at a time, EeBee has outsmarted everyone, but not for long! As she teleports our Hesher Heroes to insane locations, they enlist a bevy of baked soldiers (Ooga Booga, Killjoy and tons of surprises), to sell her magic ganja in a bid for guerilla weedfare. It’s up to a baker’s dozen of dopes to figure out EeBee’s new rules and stop her before humanity goes up in smoke.

I'm a couple films behind on the adventures of the bong and the cookie, but as a devoted supporter of Full Moon I will definitely be catching up on the franchises before much longer. EVIL BONG and THE GINGERDEAD MAN may not appeal to me quite as much as classics like PUPPET MASTER and DEMONIC TOYS do, but they are fun movies.
