Gerard Butler goes all Rambo in Breck Eisner’s woodsy action/thriller Manhunt

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

What do you get when you take Gerard Butler, mix him with a little of William Friedkin’s THE HUNTED, then throw in some ‘Rambo’ for good measure? Breck Eisner’s MANHUNT that’s what!

The folks over at Deadline New York are dropping the news that Butler is in advanced negotiations to star in the woodsy action/thriller MANHUNT for director Breck Eisner. Michael Shamberg and Stacey Sher are set to produce this bad Larry through their Double Feature Films banner with a Late 2012 start date being eyed. The duo of Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby penned the script for MANHUNT, which reads:

The plot involves a team of FBI agents sent to the North Carolina wilderness to chase the FBI’s most wanted man, domestic terrorist and survivalist James Tollan, who has eluded arrest with the support of the local population while attacking the federal government. They enroll the help of a reluctant bear hunter to capture the killer. But once the team enters the woods, the hunters become the hunted as Tollan will stop at nothing to survive and defend his territory.

Other producers on the project include Alexander Milchan’s EMJAG Films, Danny DeVito and Jersey Films and Scott Lambert of Management 360′s producing arm FILM 360. Alan Siegel, Alexandra Milchan and Scott Lambert will executive produce.

So what do you guys think? I know MANHUNT doesn’t really fall into place here on AITH but I could definitely see this one being worth reporting on. Be sure to spit some bullets below and let us know how you’re jiving with MANHUNT as we wait for more news on the thriller to spill our way.
