Get a first look at Josh Brolin's OldBoy

Oct. 12, 2012by: Ike Oden

Spike Lee's remake/re-adaptation of the noir-revenge manga OLDBOY has finally started filming. As such, we have your first look at star Josh Brolin as protagonist Joe Doucett.

If you saw Chan-wook Park's version of the film, you'll remember Min-sik Choi's character Dae-su Oh took on several dimensions, ranging from badass to bereaved to ultimately pathetic. If there's anyone who can properly take that character's scope and make it his own, it's Brolin. With a cigarette in his mouth and a weary look on his face, I think the actor fits the noir-y role perfectly.

You'll also find Spike Lee directing, a news team reporting at a crime scene, and a bloody cadaver on a gurney at said crime scene. Is it the work of Joe Doucett? I'm guessing so. Check out the pics and synopsis below and chime in with your thoughts on star Josh Brolin's badassitude.

An everyday man has only five days and limited resources to discover why he was imprisoned in a nondescript room for 15 years without any explanation.
