Get Out considered a comedy by the Golden Globes

I don't know if you guys have heard about this yet, but evidently, Blumhouse submitted writer-director Jordan Peele's horror-thriller GET OUT to this year's Golden Globes as a comedy.

And that doesn't make any sense to me. Maybe the film is a satire, but before anything like comedy the film is a horrific psychological thriller. While there (of f*cking course) isn't a category at the Golden Globes for horror movies, why isn't GET OUT being considered a drama?

I guess we'll find out when the nominations for the Golden Globes are announced Monday, Dec. 11th.

Anyhow, all of that aside, what does writer-director Jordan Peele think of this rather interesting news? Well, the filmmaker/ comedian took to Twitter to let us all know:

And here is what co-star Lil Rel Howery had to say about the matter:

What do you think about this news? Do you think GET OUT is a comedy – like, by any means? Make sure to hit us up and let us know in the new comments section below or on social media!

GET OUT synopsis:

Now that Chris (Daniel Kaluuya) and his girlfriend, Rose (Allison Williams), have reached the meet-the-parents milestone of dating, she invites him for a weekend getaway upstate with Missy and Dean. At first, Chris reads the family's overly accommodating behavior as nervous attempts to deal with their daughter's interracial relationship, but as the weekend progresses, a series of increasingly disturbing discoveries lead him to a truth that he never could have imagined.

GET OUT is written & directed by Jordan Peele, and stars Daniel Kaluuya, Allison Williams (see below), Bradley Whitford, Caleb Landry Jones, Stephen Root, and Catherine Keener.
