Get Out scores 100% on Rotten Tomatoes

100%

Whoa. GET OUT currently sits at a perfect score of 100% over at Rotten Tomatoes.

Now I know a flick scoring a perfect 100% on Rotten Tomatoes can be misleading. Hell, early this week when other news sites where hooping-and-hollering about the news, I was hesitant to report on it just yet. I mean, after all, 43-0 is still 100%, but not as impressive as the heights the film has reached since.

Now THAT'S news.

The film currently has 124 reviews under its belt. And it still sits high atop the 100% podium. I think it is now safe to say that we have something truly special on our hands.

Along with that the critics consensus reads:

Funny, scary, and thought-provoking, Get Out seamlessly weaves its trenchant social critiques into a brilliantly effective and entertaining horror/comedy thrill ride.

Now just to give you an idea of how rare it is for a horror flick to score a full 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, take a look at the ridiculously short list of other flicks to currently do so:

Das Cabinet des Dr. Caligari. (The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari) (1920)
Repulsion (1965)
Frankenstein (1931)
The Bride of Frankenstein (1935)

Dude...

Will the film impress me, and you for that matter? That of course remains to be seen, but you have to appreciate when a flick - especially a fright flick - manages to burst out and become something everyone is talking about.

We'll see how the reviews hold up over the coming weeks, but, really, at this point, with the film released into theaters this weekend, we have entered the realm of "I'll just watch that sh*t out myself."

GET OUT is written & directed by Jordan Peele of KEY & PEELE fame, and stars Daniel Kaluuya, Allison Williams (see below), Catherine Keener, Bradley Whitford, and Caleb Landry Jones. You can check out a exclusive interview with star Daniel Kaluuya we posted earlier today RIGHT HERE

I look forward to checking out the new Blumhouse flick at my local multiplex tonight. How about you?

Extra Tidbit: GET OUT is rated-R or violence, bloody images, and language including sexual references

Of course it's at 100,

The movie is a social commentary on racism. That's the only reason it's getting praise

Any viewers of Key & Peele know Jordan has an eye for shooting creepy scenes. The praise is great, I hope the box office is good for it.
