Glenn Close is undoubtedly one of the finest actresses that ever graced the screen. Now she's set to bring her talents to a dystopian zombie film, making this project one to certainly keep an eye on.
Deadline is sharing that Close is set to star in SHE WHO BRINGS GIFTS, the 2014 Brit List script that has been adapted by MR Carey from his own dystopian novel, "The Girl With All The Gifts". Colm McCarthy ("Peaky Blinders", "Ripper Street") will make his feature directing debut with shooting to start in May.
Close will be joining Gemma Arterton and Paddy Considine in the thriller about…
…a seemingly normal and very intelligent little girl who lives in an underground army bunker with other children her age. They are all experimental cases being examined by scientists to find a cure for a fungal spore that has infected the planet.
The novel has been hailed as a brilliant work that mixes the horror of zombies with complex and sympathetic characters, so this sounds like an intriguing project indeed. We'll be keeping an eye out for news on this one.
