Go behind-the-scenes of Ben Wheatley’s A Field in England

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Can't wait to check out Ben Wheatley's psychedelic horror flick A FIELD IN ENGLAND? We've got just the thing! This behind-the-scenes feature gives us a fantastic look at all the work that went into making the film — from early development and pre-production all the way through to shooting, editing and then finally releasing the flick. The video comes in at just over 20 minutes in length so if you've got the time be sure to check it out!

Written by Amy Jump and produced by Claire Jones and Andy Starke at Rook Films, the film is set during the English Civil War of the mid-17th century and follows a small group of deserters fleeing from a raging battle who become caught up in a hunt for treasure. While crossing a vast mushroom circle, which provides their first meal, the group quickly descend into a chaos of arguments, fighting and paranoia, and, as it becomes clear that the treasure they seek might be something other than gold, they slowly become victim to the terrifying energies trapped in the field.

This marks the first UK film to be released simultaneously in cinemas, on TV, DVD and VOD. It is expected to release in the States sometime later this year by Drafthouse Cinemas so we'll be sure to keep you guys posted. Michael Smiley, Peter Ferdinando, Reece Shearsmith, Julian Barratt, Richard Glover and Ryan Pope all star.
