Severin Fiala and Veronika Franz, the German duo behind last year's massively disturbing GOODNIGHT MOMMY, are headed to Hollywood for their follow-up feature. Universal Pictures has snatched up THE FORTRESS, a horror flick the team will write and direct. Mega-producer Michael De Luca's production company is overseeing the project.

Sadly (or fortunately, depending on your POV), we don't know much about THE FORTRESS right now, but, we can tell you it revolves around…

a group of refugees hidden aboard a container ship who discover their passage to safety is not what it seems.

After the claustrophobic chills of GOODNIGHT MOMMY, it seems Fiala and Franz are opening things up a bit and hitting the high seas. Although, naturally, a container ship could prove to be just as claustrophobic as the antiseptic home of their first feature.
