Hack/Slash Details

If there’s one comic adaptation that you should be looking forward to, it’s Tim Seeley’s HACK/SLASH- about a hot chick who hacks and slashes up slasher-style serial killers. Did I mention she’s hot? Cause she is… in that same way Laura Croft and Aeon Flux is hot, and about as hot as a cartoon character can be…

But back to the point- it’s being made into a film, and AICN had a chance to chat it up with Todd Lincoln, the director and co-writer for the film. Lincoln talks all things on the project, and if this doesn’t wet your willy, I don’t know what will. Here’s a few quotes to pump ya up:


[HACK/SLASH will be] a smart, scary, new-generation, blood-soaked, breast-laden, Hard-R frightfest with all the detail and character work of the best auteur films… Tonally, the movie is much more grounded and serious than the comic. We’re playing this film straight, suspenseful, vicious and bloody. This is not a parody. This is not a self-aware, post-modern, campy retro-trip. The goal is to create something special. Not just a love letter to slasher films, but a film that reconstructs, reinvigorates and elevates the genre…

If this flick turns out to be just a fraction of how awesome Lincoln here is describing it, it’ll still be totally awesome! Seriously, I’m getting chills just thinking about all the cool possibilities this flick has.
