The cast for Kevin Smith's TUSK continues to grow as word is coming in from Deadline that Haley Joel Osment (THE SIXTH SENSE) has just landed a role in the horror flick. In TUSK, Osment will play Teddy, whose best friend and podcast co-host (Justin Long) goes missing in the backwoods of Canada. He joins forces with his friend’s girlfriend (Genesis Rodriguez) to search for him. The casting has been great so far and I honestly can't wait to see how Smith brings this one to life–should be some ridiculous fun!
I'm a big fan of Smith's SMODcast, where the idea for TUSK stemmed from, and every time he brings the film up you can tell he's very passionate about it and excited to bring audiences one hell of a f*cked up flick. It's certainly an odd sounding movie, but that's just part of its charm and I really think Smith is going to surprise a lot of people with this one.
The film is being described as...
...a story [that] follows a podcaster who sets out to interview an eccentric, reclusive old seafarer, only to find himself a plaything in the gruesome plot of a deranged killer.
Production begins next month in North Carolina and LA.
