Halloween 3 update from producer Malek Akkad

Could this news have come at a better time? I think not! With Halloween approaching next Friday, it’s only fitting that current HALLOWEEN series producer Malek Akkad would speak out on what exactly is going on with the next installment in the franchise. Both Mike Aiello, the creative director of Universal's Halloween Horror Nights, and Akkad spoke about the next film, revealing that a script is currently being worked out.

Here's the update Akkad had on HALLOWEEN 3:

It’s been a joy to work with so many creative people – ten films. We’re working on eleven as we speak. We’re working on a script right now. A new draft – perfect timing – is supposed to hit the day before Halloween. Hopefully my Halloween night reading will be a good read.

Any further details are being kept under the rug but it’s nice to hear that this one seems to be moving along quite nicely. No word on who's writing the script or who will be taking on directing duties, but I'd be surprised if we see Rob Zombie back at the helm. That said, it'll be interesting to see which direction they ultimately go with HALLOWEEN 3 considering where we left off with Zombie's last effort. Regardless of who's bringing this bad boy back to life, I'm just excited to see Michael Myers slashing up the big screen once again.
