Hallows Point news

Last Updated on July 27, 2021

Now I haven’t heard of HALLOWS POINT, and to be honest, it sounds like your generic slasher. Like right down to it, this is your text book slasher. From the character villain to the cliched group of high school students. Now even though it lacks originality, who doesn’t love a good slasher?

Well there’s some news coming in from Fangoria about the flick. Mainly a couple new stills (found below) and some release dates. According to the film’s official MySpace, the synopsis is:

It started as a harmless bet but for a group of Hallows Point High students, this Halloween will turn into the ultimate nightmare. Trapped in an abandoned schoolhouse with an evil they helped create, but cannot defeat, the students are ill-prepared for their last lesson… in terror!

Twelve high school students lock themselves into an abandoned schoolhouse on Halloween night and accidentally resurrect their former biology teacher who was a serial killer. The teacher, Nathanial Raber, is all too willing to come back and give these poor unfortunate souls their final exam.

Now I’m a big fan of the slasher sub-genre, and after checking out the trailer I can tell I’m going to like this one. The obvious ‘B-movie’ feel is there of course, but it looks like it might be able to rise above your average indie stuff. HALLOWS POINT is written and directed by Jeffrey Lynn (THE DWELLING). It stars Christa Campbell (above and below), David Naughton, Tom Nowicki, Robin Hines, Angela Austin, and Keith Pratt. (On a little side note, Christa Campbell graced the pages of Playboy last month. Just figured I’d share that info.) Jeffrey Lynn had the following to say to Fango about the movie:

“We created HALLOWS POINT as a homage to the horror movies of the ’80s while updating the cinematic and editing techniques used back then.”

He also spoke about the villain and the make-up/special effects. To read the rest of that you can head over here. HALLOWS POINT will be premiering at the SunStar Seminole 8 Theaters in Pinellas County, Florida on October 9 (which will be followed by a release in Tampa Bay, Florida on October 12.) As for the rest of us, we’re going to have to wait until sometime in 2008 to check this one out. For a whole mess of cool stuff about the flick, (including galleries, info, trailer, blogs, etc) you can visit the official MySpace over here or the official website with some pretty sweet flash, here. You can also check out the trailer directly below.

Christa Campbell is turning out to be quite the scream queen… and I’m definately not complaining!
