Hannibal: Season 1 dated for DVD/Blu-Ray; special features announced

Like most of you, we are big fans of NBC's "Hannibal", which we were thrilled to learn would be getting a second season after a kickass first season full of excellent writing, stellar acting and some pretty intense gore (especially for network television). "Hannibal" hit Comic-Con this week and now we have news on when the thrilling first season will be hitting home video. Read on!

Season 1 will launch September 24. In addition to the 12 episodes that aired on NBC, the DVD/Blu-Ray includes the full version of an episode pulled from the schedule in the wake of the Sandy Hook school shooting. Full features are listed below:

HANNIBAL focuses on the fledgling relationship between FBI agent Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) and Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen), his mentor. Will Graham is a gifted criminal profiler who is on the hunt for a serial killer with the FBI. Graham's unique way of thinking gives him the astonishing ability to empathize with anyone – even psychopaths. He seems to know what makes them tick.
