Ilya Naishuller’s Hardcore Henry set for April release in the U.S.

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Several months ago, the online film community was rocked by the debut of a trailer for director Ilya Naishuller's action/thriller HARDCORE, a film shot entirely from the first-person perspective. Days after the trailer hit the internet, the worldwide distribution rights to the film were picked up by STX Entertainment for a cool $10 million.

The film is now going by the title HARDCORE HENRY, and STX has announced that they will be releasing it into theatres in the United States on April 8th.

The events of the film play out

through the eyes of Henry, a newly resurrected cybernetic super soldier who is charged with saving his wife, Estelle (Haley Bennett) from a paramilitary psychic, whose ambitions lean towards total world domination.

Sharlto Copley co-stars as Henry's ally Jimmy.

I'm a little hesitant about HARDCORE HENRY, I'm not sure it will be my kind of movie, but it's good to know that those who are anxiously looking forward to its release won't have very much longer to wait.
