Here’s your first look at Tom Hardy as Bane! The Dark Knight Rises campaign is on!

The viral campaign for THE DARK KNIGHT RISES has kicked off in a big way! The first official image from the film has been uncovered and, as you can see, it’s a creepy Tom Hardy as the villainous Bane. Way cool! (Click on the pic to see a bigger version.)

Additionally, the film’s official site has opened. Sort of. If you go to TheDarkKnightRises.WarnerBros.com, you’ll be taken to a blank screen while a chanting goes on in the background. Weird…

As we told you yesterday, production has just kicked off on the Chris Nolan-directed sequel, which has a JULY 20, 2012 release date planned. In addition to Hardy it stars Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman and Morgan Freeman.
