Back in the summer of 2016, we shared a trailer for an Indonesian horror film titled DANUR, from BADOET director Awi Suryadi. DANUR was released in Indonesia on March 30, 2017, and was a massive success. So massive that Suryadi has already made a sequel that will be reaching theatres in Indonesia one day shy of DANUR's one year anniversary.

Based (as the first film was) on a novel by Risa Saraswati, DANUR 2: MADDAH was written by Lele Laila and is a direct sequel to its predecessor, continuing the story of a lonely girl named Risa who befriends a group of ghosts.

Several of DANUR's stars, including Prilly Latuconsina as Risa, have returned for the sequel.

DANUR 2 is set to reach theatres in Indonesia on March 29th. The trailer for the film, with English subtitles, can be seen below.

I haven't had the chance to watch the first DANUR yet, but judging by the sequel's trailer these films seem to be quite creepy.
