Horror @ the Box Office: March 2-4 – Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax wins big, leaves the competition out to dry

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

It is Monday once again folks, I hope you all had an enjoyable weekend!

Well as far as the Box Office went, it was a family friendly one. THE LORAX based on the book by Dr. Seuss made quite the nice amount of money. The film is now officially the highest opening film of the year but it also did the best opening for any Dr. Seuss adaptation! I think this one might be sticking around the Box Office for the next few weeks.

As predicted Amanda Seyfried’s entry last week did what the title suggests, it is GONE! As for the other genre entry GHOST RIDER: SPIRIT OF VENGEANCE it managed to hold on to a spot in the Top 10, but don’t expect it to stay there. Unfortunately it has not been a good few weeks for horror and the Box Office.

This Friday we have SILENT HOUSE coming out, starring Elizabeth Olsen. Keep an eye out, in the coming weeks we will see the release of THE HUNGER GAMES and THE RAID in limited release so we’ll be sure to see some genre action then.
