I, Frankenstein pushed back to 2014

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Back in February we dropped the news on you that the release of Stuart Beattie’s I, FRANKENSTEIN has been bumped to September 2013 to allow time for a 3-D post-conversion, but apparently the process is taking longer than expected as the potential franchise starter has just been given another release date, being rescheduled to finally hit theaters in January 2014.

I’m not sure how well this bodes for the film as January has traditionally been the dumping ground for most studios’ weaker films, but with the success of TEXAS CHAINSAW 3D this past January proving that genre films can often find success on any date on the calender, perhaps Lionsgate is hoping the date-shift will prove fruitful for the flick.

Set in a dystopic present where vigilant gargoyles and ferocious demons rage in a battle for ultimate power, Victor Frankenstein’s creation Adam (Aaron Eckhart) finds himself caught in the middle as both sides race to discover the secret to his immortality.

Directed by Stuart Beattie based on the graphic novel by Kevin Grievoux, the film stars Aaron Eckhart, Bill Nighy, Yvonne Strahovski, Miranda Otto, Jai Courtney, Socratis Otto, Mahesh Jadu, Caitlin Stasey and Aden Young as Victor Frankenstein.
