Ian McShane to guest star on “American Horror Story: Asylum”

Last Updated on July 23, 2021

Those of you looking forward to “American Horror Story: Asylum” received a very nifty treat earlier today with the unveiling of the first episode’s first five minutes. Not looking to take a break from bringing the goods, “American Horror Story” has another ace up its sleeve today: It has been revealed that “Deadwood” and “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” actor Ian McShane will be appearing in at least one episode this season. F*cking awesome news!

The news comes from AHS showrunner Ryan Murphy himself, who tweeted the following yesterday: “Guess who’s coming to #AmericanHorrorStory Asylum to tussle with Jessica Lange? Legendary Golden Globe winner Ian McShane!”

If anyone can tussle with Lange’s sure-to-be-bitchy character, it’s the one and only Ian McShane, whose Al Swearengen on “Deadwood” is one of the most amazing characters to ever grace the small screen. Hell, any screen.

McShane will join up with Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Zachary Quinto, Evan Peters, Francis Conroy, Lily Rabe, Adam Levine, Joseph Fiennes, Jenna Dewan, Chloe Sevigny, Mark Consuelos, Clea Duvall and James Cromwell – among others – on “Asylum”, which kicks off on October 17th.
