IFC Midnight acquires US rights to Marc Carrete’s exorcism tale Asmodexia

One creepy looking flick that we’re really pumped about around these parts is Marc Carrete's Spanish-language chiller ASMODEXIA, and now we've learned that IFC Midnight has scooped up the US rights to the film with plans for  an autumn theatrical and digital day-and-date release.

ASMODEXIA follows a pastor and his granddaughter as they search all of Spain for those afflicted with a dark entity known as "The Evil One”. Everything we've seen so far from ASMODEXIA has looked disturbingly awesome, including the most recent trailer which you can check out HERE.

ASMODEXIA concerns Eloy de Palma, an exorcist pastor roaming the darkest corners of the country with his granddaughter Alba. Their mission is to help those possessed by The Evil One, an infection of the soul that is spreading fast, especially among the most vulnerable members of society: children, mental patients, and drug addicts. There is also a mysterious cult following them, making it more difficult to help those in need. Each exorcism is tougher than the one before, and every battle with Evil reveals a piece of young Alba’s forgotten past – an enigma that if unconcealed could change the world as we know it.

We'll keep you posted as to the exact date when ASMODEXIA will hit theaters and VOD.
