We've been following the progress of director Darren Lynn Bousman's ABATTOIR for a couple years now, so it's great to hear that the film will be making its world premiere in a matter of days. Its first screening is scheduled to happen at the Arclight Culver City theatre as part of the Los Angeles Film Festival on June 7th at 8:55pm.

In anticipation of this, a handful of images from the movie have been released online, with IndieWire getting the exclusive first look.

Described as "a new spin on the haunted house genre", ABATTOIR centers on

a real estate reporter who unearths an urban legend about a house being built from rooms where horrific tragedies have occurred. The investigation ultimately leads to the enigmatic Jebediah Crone and the answer to the terrifying question, "How do you build a haunted house?"

Jessica Lowndes, Joe Anderson, Dayton Callie, Lin Shaye, J. LaRose, and Bryan Batt star.

David J. Schow, Teddy Tenenbaum, and Christopher Monfette wrote the screenplay from Bousman's story idea, which also served as the basis of a six issue comic book series published by Radical Comics in 2010 – 2011.

An ABATTOIR prequel called THE DWELLING has already been in development for more than a year.
