International trailer for Olivier Beguin’s Chimeres starring Jasna Kohoutova

Over the last few years we’ve seen some truly fantastic horror films of the bloodsucking variety take a bite out of the genre with movies like LET THE RIGHT ONE IN, THIRST, BYZANTIUM, and ONLY LOVERS LEFT ALIVE, so hopefully Olivier Beguin’s CHIMERES can continue the upward trend of vampires being some of horror’s most terrifying monsters. On tap for you folks today is the first international trailer for Beguin’s romantic shocker that dishes out plenty of the red stuff, like any good vampire flick should! CHIMERES marks Beguin’s first feature film as he co-wrote the screenplay with Colin Vettier.

Here’s the synopsis:

While on holidays in Romania with his girlfriend Livia, Alexandre is hit by a car. He is rushed to the hospital where he has to undergo a blood transfusion. On his return home he seems to be suffering from a strange disease, convinced that contaminated blood is running through his veins. After all isn’t Romania the land of legendary bloodsuckers? Livia has to face Alexandre’s increasingly strange behaviour and does all she can to save their floundering relationship.

Jasna Kohoutova and Yannick Rosset take on the leading roles of Livia and Alexandre in the film.
