INT: Christian Bale

Christian Bale is one of the best actors working today. He is almost always brilliant in whatever he takes on, whether it’s an art house film, such as VELVET GOLDMINE, THE MACHINIST or ALL THE LITTLE ANIMALS. Or he can take on the strange and the dark with unbelievable skill. Much like he did in AMERICAN PSYCHO or BATMAN BEGINS which are both pretty damn great films. And now he returns, along with Christopher Nolan directing what may be the best of the Batman movies, THE DARK KNIGHT. In fact, in my opinion, it is easily the best.

Now, I’ll be honest, I don’t think Mr. Bale really likes to do interviews. Yet when I walked in, I really liked him. He just feels like a guy that loves his craft, but maybe would be more comfortable hanging with friends and family than sitting in room as journalist after journalist keep coming in to talk shop. But he is was still quite nice and happily, he seems to be very proud of TDK. I have a great deal of respect for Mr. Bale, and I am thrilled to see him bring Batman to life again, in such an outstanding film. And yes, it is finally here at a theatre near you. Do I need to tell you to go see it?
