... Yes, yes it is. Clearly it is, based on the preview image and the fact that there wouldn't really be much of an article if the film wasn't. We have some behind-the-scenes photos of said ongoing shoot which, I believe, is implementing screenwriter Drew Goddard's third act rewrites.
These were taken from the set of WORLD WAR Z yesterday in London. Brad Pitt is all bloody, stoic, and for some reason walking around with metal pole. We should probably assume he's going use it to fend off and/or bludgeon zombies. Unfortunately, there's no pics of him doing anything that cool but with a strong imagination it's better than nothing.
WORLD WAR Z is adapted from the Max Brooks novel of the same name but (from what I understand) not in any faithful sense. Instead, it seems to be Marc Forster and Brad Pitt's stab at epic, high-concept undead film loosely based on Brooks' Z mythos. Yet with a relatively well-received trailer and a cast that includes Mireille Enos, Daniella Kertesz, Matthew Fox and David Morse, the zillion dollar zombie flick has potential. WORLD WAR Z hits theaters June 21st. Until then, check out the pics (and a handy-dandy synopsis) below.
The story revolves around United Nations employee Gerry Lane (Pitt), who traverses the world in a race against time to stop the Zombie pandemic that is toppling armies and governments and threatening to decimate humanity itself. Enos plays Gerry’s wife Karen Lane; Kertesz is his comrade in arms, Segen.
