It’s official: Mike White will direct Pride and Prejudice and Zombies

Last Updated on July 23, 2021

Earlier this month we hit you all with the news that not only was Mike White the frontrunner for the PRIDE AND PREJUDICE AND ZOMBIES directing gig but apparently Lionsgate had put out an official offer to the filmmaker. Well folks here we are a few days later and that shite has become official!

That’s right ladies and gents, the man that once brought us the comedic genius of ORANGE COUNTY will now be bringing us ‘Elizabeth Bennet’s’ battle with the undead. That wasn’t sarcasm either… I really dug ORANGE COUNTY. The one gripe I have with all of this is that White is more of a comedy director, so it’s going to be interesting to see how he adapts Seth Grahame-Smith’s novel. Well that and the fact that the film will no longer star Natalie Portman (below). Major bummer.

The film will tell the timeless story of a woman’s quest for love and independence amid the outbreak of a deadly virus that turns the undead into vicious killers.

So what do you guys think? Mike White the right man for the job? Hit us with your thoughts on the announcement below and keep it here for more on PRIDE AND PREJUDICE AND ZOMBIES as we hear it!
