James Cameron up for… Avatar 4!?

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

I think it’s safe to say we already knew that James Cameron is going to be all about AVATAR in the coming years, but as the man himself suggests in a recent interview for The New York Times, we may be in for even more AVATAR than the two sequels already announced! Does this mean AVATAR 4? Possibly. Mind you, Cameron’s comment is far from an official confirmation, but it does indicate that the director is very much committed to exploring the franchise to its fullest potential. Read the excerpt below:

“I’ve divided my time over the last 16 years over deep ocean exploration and filmmaking. I’ve made two movies in 16 years, and I’ve done eight expeditions. Last year I basically completely disbanded my production company’s development arm. So I’m not interested in developing anything. I’m in the Avatar business. Period. That’s it. I’m making Avatar 2, Avatar 3, maybe Avatar 4 and I’m not going to produce other people’s movies for them.”

Wow, even considering how insanely successful AVATAR was, this is pretty crazy. Plus,  with AVATAR 2 possibly not hitting theaters until 2015, when the hell would we get to see a fourth one?
