James Gunn and Wolf Creek’s Greg McLean team for The Belco Experiment

The mind behind SLITHER and one of last year’s biggest films, GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY, is teaming up with none other than WOLF CREEK’s madman Greg McLean for a kill or be killed horror tale THE BELCO EXPERIMENT. Shooting in Colombia in just a couple of months—this June—THE BELCO EXPERIMENT will see McLean direct from a script written by James Gunn. This is one hell of a tandem, too, because both have deep roots in the genre, especially with Gunn getting his start at Troma and scripting the fantastic DAWN OF THE DEAD remake before making his directorial debut with SLITHER.

Here’s what we know about THE BELCO EXPERIMENT:

The story revolves around the American Belco company in South America which is mysteriously sealed off at the beginning of a work day, and its employees are ordered to kill each other or be killed themselves. This starts an escalation of violence, where we discover the true nature of each and every Belco employee.

The film will be produced by Gunn, and Peter Safran, who produced ANNABELLE and THE CONJURING with MGM financing. And while much of THE BELCO EXPERIMENT is still a mystery, Gunn calls it "the most intense and uncompromising script" he's ever written, so there's that.
