Looks like Grandma Lambert doesn't scare too easily...

Deadline.com reports that Barbara Hershey is coming back to the INSIDIOUS family in the sequel, which is currently being prepped by the team of James Wan and Leigh Whannell.

Hershey joins returning castmembers Patrick Wilson (who plays Hershey's son) and Rose Byrne. Also being brought back are Whannell and Angus Sampson as ghost-hunters Specs and Tucker.

Still no word on what's going on plot-wise in INSIDIOUS CHAPTER 2, but obviously it's a direct follow-up to the first installment, a surprise box office success. The chiller has an August 30, 2013 release in the cards; and will be distributed by Film District.

The original INSIDIOUS goes like this: When proud parents take possession of an old house, an accident results in one of their sons falling into a coma. The tragedy doesn't stop there when they are beset by vengeful spirits from another realm.

Extra Tidbit: Do you have high hopes for INSIDIOUS CHAPTER 2?

First one was amazing. I am hoping the same from this since everyone is coming back from the original.

Barbara Hershey is welcome in a movie anytime. It is a cliche. However, she is an actress who makes any project better. Furthermore, Insidious is a ghost story like The Entity--a film that Hershey does not acknowledge. I like the conneciton to a cult classic. And, one hopes that, if Hershey hates The Entity, she does like performing in the Insidious movies and that they can be the supernatural thrillers in her filmography.
