Jessica Chastain joins Sam Worthington and Jeffrey Dean Morgan in The Fields

According to The Hollywood Reporter, smokin’ red-headed hottie Jessica Chastain has been cast as the lead female role in the upcoming horror flick THE FIELDS from director Ami Canaan Mann.

Chastain joins Sam Worthington and Jeffrey Dean Morgan in the flick written by Don Ferrarone. Obviously, this isn’t the independent “based on a true story” THE FIELDS starring Tara Reid, but a totally different FIELDS that used to be called THE TEXAS KILLING FIELDS. You’d figure they’d keep the title that featured both the word TEXAS and KILLING as they’re both pretty good buzz words when it comes to horror, but who knows… maybe it’s a good idea they shortened it. So what’s this FIELDS all about? Check it out:

In the Texas bayous, a local homicide detective teams up with a cop from New York City to investigate a series of unsolved murders.

Could be cool, yo! And with Worthington and Morgan in the starring roles, I’m sure it’ll be entertaining. Throw in the hotness that is Chastain, and you have yourself a picture! Chastain is mostly known for her TV stuff (ER, LAW & ORDER, VERONICA MARS), so this is actually a pretty big break for her. Let’s hope she doesn’t blow it.
